Adam Beck

Adam Beck grew up in a tight-knit co-op in Ottawa, ON. where he learned the value of community and the power of imagination. It was there, during his childhood, that he fell in love with human stories and unique characters. After breaking his leg playing football which left him bedridden for months, Adam discovered his impenetrable love for film.

This led him to his studies in film production at Concordia University in Montreal, where he graduated top of his class and received the Technicolour award for achievement in short filmmaking. Since graduating and moving to Toronto his cinematic and empathetic approach to direction and storytelling has carried through both his personal and professional projects including commercials for Google, Adidas, LG, VISA, GoDaddy, Indigo among others.

As well as his feature-length documentary “A Kid From Somewhere” which has screened at prestigious festivals such as Toronto International Film Festival, on Air Canada flights and has been selected as a Vimeo Staff Pick. His desire to make intimate, rich, character-driven films has recently turned his focus inward, with a feature length screenplay that explores and pulls from his own personal experiences growing up.
